SSL Certificates

As of October 17, 2017 all SnapRetail-powered websites have SSL certificates installed. We are offering the SSL certificate free of charge through the end of 2017. What does this mean?

  • SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is security technology that provides an encrypted connection between a web server and web browser. This ensures that your customer’s data cannot be read while it is being sent to your website.
  • Visitors will browse your site on an HTTPS-enabled connection. If they have the HTTP version of your site bookmarked, they’ll be forwarded to the HTTPS-connection automatically.
  • When your site is viewed it will show as Secure, so visitors know it can be trusted. In Google Chrome, this will be shown by the word “Secure” and a padlock appearing in green in the address bar.
