Understanding and managing hard & soft bounces

You can find all of your hard bounced email addresses by navigating to the Customers section in your SnapRetail account.

On the left, under Customers of Note you'll find all of the email addresses that have hard bounced, but are still in the system.

You can also see which email addresses soft bounced or hard bounced from an individual email campaign by navigating to the Reports section and click Detailed Interactions.

A bounce means the email did not arrive to the recipient. This can occur for a variety of reasons.

A hard bounce is an e-mail message that has been returned to the sender. A hard bounce might occur because the domain name doesn’t exist or because the recipient is unknown. We recommend to delete all hard bounces from your SnapRetail and any master list you keep outside of SnapRetail (in your POS for example).

A soft bounce is an e-mail message that gets as far as the recipient's mail server but is bounced back undelivered before it gets to the intended recipient. A soft bounce might occur because the recipient's inbox is full.
